Janice,

Thank you for your perspective on potty training. I was skeptical of the 3-day claim, but am glad that I allowed myself to purchase your e-book. I think it's just the right approach that our son needs.

Using colors to aid in potty training children.

It has long been observed that colors have a direct effect on emotions. Color therapy is the science of using colors to invoke desired emotions and to change emotions that are less desirable.

When using a weekend of training method of potty training like we promote at the Potty Training Site, you want to use stimulating colors. You want to generate as much excitement about the potty training process as possible. This excitement will be the emotional trigger than makes the training stick and learning progress progress much faster.

The higher the excitement level for both the teacher and the student, the faster and more effective the training process will be.

Stimulate with Red

The color I recommend for stimulation while potty training is red. Red is the color associated with the base chakra which controls the kidneys.

You will notice that I chose red tones for the background and headlines when designing our website. This color was chosen to build excitement about potty training.

So when you are collecting your supplies for your weekend of potty training, encourage your child to pick put red colors. Get underwear with red trim or red prints. Choose a potty seat that has red decorations. Find wipes that come in a red container.

If you choose to decorate your home for your weekend of potty training to build excitement, use red colors in your decorations. Surround yourself with flashes of red.

Once you have completed your potty training weekend, you may want to choose more soothing colors for every day use. I recommend blue and indigo.

Vocalize with Blue

Blue is associated with the throat. My idea here is to promote having your child speak and tell your when he needs to go to the potty.

Think about indigo

Indigo is associated with lower brain function. Using indigo will promote your child knowing when to use the potty and learning to plan ahead for potty stops.

Again, you can find interesting and exciting ways to integrate these colors into your child’s life. Like underwear trim or decoration. You won’t be using a diaper bag anymore but you still need to carry spare clothes and other supplies so make that bag have blue and indigo highlights.

Juice and food containers are another place to add trigger colors. Tissues and hand cleaners also come in blue and indigo containers.

I hope your potty training experience is a happy and colorful event that you enjoy with your child.
